Description Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) 2016-03-04 19:54:39 UTC
When a user clicks on one of the presentation templates in the 'Available for Use' in the Master Pages tab of the sidebar, it only imports the first master slide, as previously all presentation templates only had a single slide master. But this has changed and our new set of templates each have multiple slide masters and they should be imported when a user selects a template.

Hi Jay,

Interesting development. Never noticed that.
However, what about offering all the available master pages? After all it is about importing master pages..

It would flood the list and with our intent to include many more templates, it would be a very bad UX. If the user likes the first master slide, he clicks on it, and all them will appear in the 'Used in This This Presentation' section, so they can easily change to the others.

If not bad, at least a bit filled..

This implies that we think that seeing the first slide, gives a good impression of the other master slides..

will the first master page be applied (to all), and then the rest available for choice?

I'm hoping that we'll have over 30 templates and if each of them we averaging 2 master slides, that would be 60. At my screen resolution (1600x900), 24 thumbnails could likely appear without a scroll bar, which would been i'd be scrolling for hours. :D

That is how we pick templates from the template manager. We see just the first slide.

Yes it would have the same behaviour as now, but would simply import the other ones as well.

OK, thanks.
Interesting how people will go around and work with that much choice ;)
