My presentation after an Impress crash

Impress crashes when I was saving my presentation. After the crash I tried to use the recovery wizard but even the wizard said it was recovered, it wasn't.

I attached the file to this bug.

I hope it could help the developers to fix this kinda problem because the software is a nice one and I really wanna use it instead of PowerPoint.

Good luck to fix the bugs and keep doing what you are doing. Make the world better !!!!
Comment 1 Didier 2016-03-05 17:15:01 UTC
I find out that the problem is linked to the options in LibreOffice in the menu Tools/Options/View

- Use hardware acceleration
- Use anti-aliasing
- Use OpenGL for all rendering (on restart)

When I enable of of these options the application "Impress" crashes or shows only half of some slides. It seems the application cannot render the image in a good way.

Could you indicate your LO version?

What's the brand and model of your graphic card? Is the last stable driver installed? (above all for OpenGl part)
Comment 4 Didier 2016-03-05 17:19:21 UTC
I have no idea if the info about my hardware can help someone but I use :

- A nVidia graphic card GeForce GTX 960 (driver version 362.00)
- OS : Windows 10 x64
Comment 5 Didier 2016-03-05 17:22:29 UTC
The driver version is the latest one (1st march 2016).
It's the first time I use Bugzilla and I am not a developer so I don't exactly know what "Status" I should put. Sorry if I'm wrong.
Comment 6 Julien Nabet 2016-03-05 17:29:59 UTC
Unconfirmed is ok here since indeed you answered the questions + nobody has reproduced yet this problem.

About graphic card, it may be important for OpenGL because some versions are blacklisted on LO (see http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/vcl/opengl/opengl_blacklist_windows.xml#23). If your case is the blacklist, LO won't use OpenGL. But, you can force it by enabling the checkbox "Force OpenGL". (it can be useful for example for devs who would like to debug).

Would it be possible you attach a backtrace (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#Windows:_How_to_get_a_backtrace)?

Please give LibreOffice version info.

Please paste contents of this:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\cache\opengl_device.log

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information and maybe tried to get a backtrace.

Here is the debug part I get with Visual Studio from the process soffice.bin (impress). I am not a developer at all and I am not sure I use the debug mode in a correct way. Do you have a video which shows how to get information from debugger on Windows 7 ir higher ? :

Well here is an older video (using XP), but the process with Windbg is still the same: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fppBTs215yc
Download is of course from some other source as time went by..
