A very simple odf file and a pdf exported from it (zipped together)

When exporting a simple sheet (only Arial font, no special characters or functions used) to pdf, the resulting pdf document looks like having some alien characters.
I installed the latest version of LibreOffice (as i remember, the previous version was 4.5 something) and acrobat reader as well, but the "feature" remained the same.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting this bug. I'm unable to confirm it in Master.
Can you try it with different font?

Generated pdfs with some fonts

I made a simple sheet with the word 'test' written in some of the fields. After that I changed the font of all the characters to the the ones what are the names of the pdf files.

I checked this bug with some of the fonts and attached the outcome.

Hello again,

Are you by any chance using Windows XP? there are similar old bugs on OOo for that

I am using win XP.
I checked those two bugs you mentioned. Two problems with them:
-Both bugs mentioned are about using some japanese or other non-conventional character sets, while in my case only simple common character sets were used.
-those bugs are categorized to be fixed...

Unfortunately I cannot give you the exact versions of the Libre Office and acrobat reader I used at the moment the whole process went south, but since I have a regular monthly task the involves exporting to pdf, that is for sure that one day it was working but a month later it was not. And I have been using the same old XP OS from much longer before...

It might be some OpenGL bug that was fixed. Please try with 5.1.1.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

I have just upgraded to 5.1.1.3, but the problem is still there :(
I used Liberation Sans fonts this time.

No repro with Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+; win7
Comment 10 Buovjaga 2016-03-31 08:56:04 UTC
It works ok for me even in 5.1.1.

Maybe try this: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile
Comment 11 Aron Budea 2016-06-26 04:41:33 UTC
Not reproduced with LO 5.1.0.3/Windows XP.

The other mentioned reports were referring to huge fonts in the system, I wonder if it depends on some installed fonts or font-related settings.
Comment 12 Buovjaga 2016-06-26 11:15:49 UTC
tbucsu: It seems I forgot to explicitly ask you, if you have this option enabled: Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View - Use OpenGL for all rendering
If yes, does disabling it help?

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.

I have just checked and the bug is gone. It is a most surprising event to have happened, because I haven't upgraded neither the Libreoffice itself nor the adobe reader.
I have gone through all my downloaded file since the last unsuccessful attemp and found out that the only thing that could have something to do with making things right was that I installed java 8 on my box lately.
I don't know if this could caus anything but you guys can certainly tell.

Thanks for all you effort anyways!
