What GTK+ theme is that? Are you using the GTK+ 3 integration?
(In reply to Adolfo Jayme from comment #3) > What GTK+ theme is that? Are you using the GTK+ 3 integration? I am using Linux Mint theme, but it happens with any that I apply.
What about the GTK+ version? Do you have the package “libreoffice-gtk3” installed?
(In reply to Adolfo Jayme from comment #5) > What about the GTK+ version? Do you have the package “libreoffice-gtk3” > installed? Looking at synaptic, if I install that, it will download 210MB, and it is v5.0.3 - will that not install the whole of the (In reply to Adolfo Jayme from comment #5) > What about the GTK+ version? It is only the styles, font name and font size icons which are affected (or so it seems).

Hi! I've been experiencing the same Issue. I've also opened a bug case [1] reporting it. I've found that the problem -at least with me- it's the package libreoffice-gtk3. If I install it, the rendering problem reported in [1] and in this one -99134- goes away. But when libreoffice-gtk3 is installed, then I begin experiencing another problem with pivot-tables as explained in [2]. Basically [2] says that it's impossible to edit the layout of a Pivot-Table because the drag/drop of fields in the layout window is not possible at all. So, since I need to work with pivot-tables I've uninstalled the libreoffice-gtk3 package, but, oh well, I get the rendering problem back. Hope this helps! Cheers! for the record, I have just installed the latest build, (23May). The problem persists. GTK is libreoffice-gtk3_5.0.3~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty2_amd64 is installed is a later version necessary?
The title may be misleading - this is not a problem with text boxes, but with dropdowns. specifically, the style, font and font size dropdowns. But those that allow one to type into the dropdown text control. Somehow it shows the previous value together with the newly selected value. It is almost as if the text is being take from two places - could it be that that the contents in the toolbar is stored in a different place to the sidebar, but when displaying it is showing both?
Problem disappeared when I updated to: Version: 5.2.0.0.beta2 Build ID: ae12e6f168ba39f137fc110174a37c482ce68fa4 CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 3.19; UI Render: default; Locale: en-ZA (en_GB.UTF-8) Evidently something to do with Dev versions. Maybe there is something missing in there?
Since there is no specific commit fixing this issue, setting to WORKSFORME. FIXED is used only when a commit exists.
