Created attachment 124994 [details] .ods File with Math Equation Which Triggers Crash A spreadsheet our office uses regularly crashes (Fatal Error / bad allocation) when Calc 5.1.x attempts to render a particular Math equation on-screen. A stripped-down version of this spreadsheet is attached (which is also confirmed to have the same crash behavior). Three other Math plug-in equations are nearby on the page, and Calc can render them without crashing. We have confirmed that no crash is triggered by this equation in LibreOffice 5.0.6 or OpenOffice 4.1.x. We have not confirmed whether LibreOffice 5.1.0 or 5.1.1 crash, but I suspect they will. (Rendering of the equations in 5.1.x is also significantly worse than in 5.0.x, but I will enter a separate ticket for that.)
An additional data point: The crash occurs whether OpenGL is disabled or not.
No crash for me: - when editing the file - when editing each math equation Tested with LO 5.1.4.0.0+ and the master, both built at home under Ubuntu 16.04 x86-64. Best regards. JBF
I can repro crash with 5.1.1.3, but no crash with Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha1+; win7 Seems to be fixed with dev version. Please could you test it with dev version? You can download it here: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/ Thank you
I've installed 5.2.0.0.alpha1+ on my Win7 machine and confirmed that the dev version does not trigger the same crash. Noticing that 5.1.3.2 has just been released, I installed and tested that as well, and it appears to not trigger the crash either. Marking this RESOLVED/FIXED for now; it can be reopened if problems are encountered on other Windows machines. Thanks!
Thanks for testing. Correct status WFM.
