Description Pedro 2016-05-17 13:29:33 UTC
When any XLS(X) file is edited or created with LibreOffice > 4.4.0 the horizontal slider is reduced to the control buttons.

This is a result of the (IMO excellent) change in the LibreOffice Calc UI where the horizontal slider is one line above the tab bar (unlike Excel where it uses the same line as the tabs), and therefore it uses the full width of the Calc window i.e. it has no dimension.

Observed: the horizontal slider is reduced to the cursor buttons

Expected: the horizontal slider width is retained (if editing an XLS(X)) or a fixed size is assumed (when saving a new document to XLS(X))

This is a regression from branch 4.3

(I have been meaning to report this for ages, but I usually save to ODS)

Hello Pedro,
what do you mean horizontal slider? Is it scrollbar form control? Could you post some printscreens and test file? Thanks

Sample file created in LO 5.1.3.2

Opening the sample file in LibreOffice < 4.4 or in Excel (any version) shows the problem illustrated in the attached images.
If the file is opened in Excel or LibreOffice < 4.4 and the slider is resized and saved, then the horizontal slidebar width will be fixed (until it is saved in LO > 4.4 again)

Reproducible

Open sample file with:
Version: 4.2.8.2 Build Id: 48d50dbfc06349262c9d50868e5c1f630a573ebd
shows the issue
resizing the scrollbar and saving.

Opening with:
Version: 5.1.3.2 (x64)
Build ID: 644e4637d1d8544fd9f56425bd6cec110e49301b
CPU Threads: 1; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: default;
It's fine.
Saving again.

Opening again with: Version: 4.2.8.2
shows again the issue.

That should be fixed to some degree in master. We now always export it with a 50% setting.
