Description David Korth 2011-07-31 21:36:32 UTC
Using 3D transitions in Impress on two of my systems, both of which use Radeon Gallium drivers (one r300g [RV530], one r600g [RV610]), simply results in the slide showing up without any sort of animation.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create basic slideshow.
2. Set slide transition to a 3D transition.
3. Run the slideshow.

Expected results:
Slideshow starts with the specified transition.

Actual results:
Slideshow acts like no transition is specified, and shows the slide instantly.

Regular 2D transitions seem to function correctly (except for the Cover transitions, which is probably an unrelated issue.)

I haven't been able to test this on any other GPUs yet.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

I retested 3D transitions on the two systems.

ThinkPad T60p
- Distribution: Gentoo Linux amd64
- GPU: FireGL V5250 (M66GL, rv515?)
- OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on ATI RV530
- OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 8.1-devel (git-90a5175)
- Package: app-office/libreoffice-3.5.1.2
- 3D transitions work correctly.

Desktop system:
- Distribution: Ubuntu 12.04 amd64
- GPU: Radeon HD 2400 XT (rv610)
- OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV610
- OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 8.0.1
- Package: libreoffie-impress 1:3.5.0-2ubuntu1
- 3D transitions work correctly.

It appears that 3D transitions are working now.
