The print dialog has the option to print selected pages. By default it show the value "first-last page".
This default value is of no usefulness.
A useful default value is:
- if no selection, the page the cursor is on
- if selection, the pages range the selection embraces
Thanks for your report.

Currently we have bug 34697 to implement this, which will be in 3.5 for Writer. Other apps are not finished yet.

Not sure about this. :-) So change subject according to this.
[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html
in LibO 3.6.0 master second feature still not present
firstname.lastname@example.org - Thanks for your good faith, but please don't change the version number, it is the *earliest* version where the problem occurred. See more at http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport_Details#Version
So I change it back.

I think that's been applied now on Writer with LO 18.104.22.168 (Win7 32bit)
Created attachment 81525 [details]
screenshot of Writer with selected text and printing dialog
In 4.0.4 and 4.1.0 not implemented yet
Steps to reproduce:
0. Open or create document spanning several pages
1. Select some text beginning on one page and ending on another
2. Ctrl-P and see field "Pages"
Expected: range of pages, for example on screenshot above should be 2-3 because selection starts on page 2 and ends on page 3
Actually: only page where selection ends.
Ups..I've never imagine before about that. I thought about thumbnail preview on the left side when we change pages selection.
