data as number

If I use the date format "dd/mm/yyyy" the column labels are numbers, If Y use another date format "dd month yy" the olumns are spaced in a "time delay" way.

Please see attached photo, if can help I can post my document

I saved the file, then opened it using openoffice.org 3.3, it works as espected.

The problem is not always reproducible, the data comes as copy from anothe sheet in the same document.

Maybe that this is a feature, if so, please close this bug.

Thanks for attachment
What about different distance between columns, it is feature. To disable this behaviour in attachment select cell B1, place apostrophe in beginning, for contents becomes so:
'15.07.2010
distance between columns will become equal.
IMHO bug is in another: why diagram wizard not asked, which variant of behaviour needed for us. There should be option or checkmark(on/off field) or warning text

What about date as numbers: can not reproduce. If still reproducible, please, attach another document with this bug.

yes, at this point the dates are treated as text and all works fine.

I agree.

No, this is no more reproducible.

When meaning of cells is ambiguous, as shown in previous comments, should appear additional option in Chart wizard. Or at least warning.

Asking design team to evaluate this and think about concrete implementation.

Don't see any ambiguity here. If cells are text, the chart will use sequential numbers for the axis. Date is a representation of a number and large steps between produce gaps. => NAB
