Description Ed 2011-11-26 11:27:41 UTC
Once logged in to the bug system, the first thing you have to do is select a component. One of the ways of doing this is via a drop-down list. (Don't start me on the array of meaningless icons that is the alternative...) There are two issues with this drop-down list:
(a) Calc is referred to as 'Spreadsheet'. Has the name changed? It still calls itself 'Calc' when it runs. At first I thought Calc had been omitted from the list altogether.
(b) The entry for website issues is labelled 'WWW'. OK, it's a loose way of naming 'Website' (and 4 fewer characters for the developer to type), but when I choose this I am reporting a problem with the LibreOffice website, not one with the World Wide Web.

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0

This naming also has historical reasons (continuity to OOo bugzilla, familiar names). We will not modify that

But I should mention that it would not be a big thing to rename components, AFAIK that can be done without causing any e-mail to involved CC

OK, so the 'Spreadsheet' name is simply wrong, and the 'WWW' one dubious at best, but you have your reasons for keeping them. That's up to you, I can't comment on that. I'd say don't remain in the shadow of OOo [horrific name, good job you didn't decide to call yourselves LOo] for ever.
