Problem description: I use KDE, openSUSE 12.1. I can't open files from other PC's shared folder directly using LibreOffice. I can open it using Dolphin, but using LibreOffice I can't do anything with the other PC's shared folder; I can't add an image from that folder, I can't save a document in that folder...

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice
2. Create example document
3. Try to save it in other's PC shared folder

Current behavior: I can't manage files in other PC's shared folder using LibreOffice in KDE.

Expected behavior: Can manage files in other PC's shared folder using LibreOffice in KDE.

Please, fix it, I'm installing openSUSE KDE in my work and I need manage documents this way.

Platform (if different from the browser): openSUSE 12.1 KDE

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0

I've been trying different Linux distributions with different desktops and this error persist, so it isn't just an error using KDE.

I've tried Mageia 1 KDE, Mageia 1 LXDE, Linux Mint 12 Gnome, Ubuntu 11.10 (Unity-Gnome).

Do you have write / read permission on the destination system??
Can you save anything from a different program??
Comment 3 moray33 2012-02-26 03:55:43 UTC
Yes to both questions. If I open the document with the archive manager (Nautilus, Dolphin...) and after that I save it using the button "Save" there's no problem. But using Libreoffice I can use "Open", "Save as", "Add image from file" or save a new document. So, it looks like LibreOffice can't interact from itself with files in a shared folder from other computer.

This problem was reproducible with previous version of KDE. Currently KDE automatically creates copy of shared file to local folders and gives it to LibreOffice. And after exiting of office asks about uploading back to server.
Drag and drop pictures into document works.
Drag and drop documents into starting window not works.
In general problem is: LibreOffice not understands url like this
smb://192.168.101.254/1/filename.doc

So, reproducible in 3.3.4, 3.5.5, 3.6.0rc

Does this persist with LO 4.4b2?
