Description Paul B 2011-12-28 17:42:07 UTC
I understand that the old "basic fonts" setting has been removed from the options/writer dialogue, but when I try to change the default style in the style manager, and restart the program it reverts back to the abomination that is Times New Roman. I've also loaded my custom templates, setting my own "standard" template as the default, but again the modified font and layout settings are being overridden. Indeed though I can then see the custom templates in the template organiser list, when I bring up the new document/template dialogue they are not visible.

Two other comments which aren't bugs, but are high on my wish list.

First though the continuous word count is a welcome addition, implementing it in a separate window still feels clunky compared to Word's status bar implementation.

Second - consistent Win7 taskbar integration. I have Writer and Calc icons on my taskbar because they give me right click access to recent files: fantastic. But if I click on a file directly from that jumplist it opens a completely separate icon in the taskbar. However if I double click the Writer icon to open a blank document, and then use the "recent documents" dialogue it opens the selected file in the correct Windows 7 fashion as a stacked document under the single Writer icon. Of course this isn't a huge issue, and nothing on earth would make me go back to MS Office as my daily choice, but I want to be able to defend LO as a seamless and superior replacement, and right now there are some obtrusive rough edges ...
