Description robert_dunbar 2012-02-19 09:13:05 UTC
Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Paste a series of small postscript images into a document. (I had 12 small ones in mine).
2. My memory settings were adjusted to handle very large numbers and size of files. 256MB in total.
3. My postscipt images were just 25Kb each in size.
4. The UI grinds to a halt.
5. Saving should be very quick given the size of the file (75Kb) but is very slow.
6. I reported this on the forum with document attached. Please see here,

Thanks for bugreport
Reproduced in 3.3.4 and 3.5.3 on Fedora 64 bit (very slow)
not reproducible on Windows XP because there only empty frames instead of pictures

Changing version to 3.3.4 as most early reproducible

PS: resembles this bug, though in Impress:
Bug 41407 - EDITING: Presentation documents with a large number of complex EPS graphics renders very slowly.

Browsing a documents with SVG graphics is slow as well. May or may not be the same issue.

Unfortunately the original forum is down and TDF has not yet restored it: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/LibreOfficeForum-org-shutting-down-volunteers-to-work-on-a-static-copy-td4185148.html

No point keeping this open without a document.
