Description jmgigandet 2012-02-29 03:11:15 UTC
Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. .... Open an HTML doc with at least one table defined.
2. .... Look at the cells height compared to other editors and browsers.
3. ....

Current behavior:
Something (a paragraph ?) is added to each cell, so that it's height is double of original size.

Expected behavior:
Nothing should be added to table cells. They should look as with all other editors and browsers.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0

Hi,
This problem exists since Open Office 3.0 at least.
I found that if I use Format / Paragraph and clear spacing under paragraph (I set it to 0), the cell looks correct. So, the fact is that when reading a standard HTML file, Writer creates a paragraph for each cell, and sets spacing under paragraph to 0.50cm by default instead of 0.
Regards,

Thanks for bugreport
Reproduced in 3.5.3 on Fedora 64 bit
Steps to reproduce:
0. Start Writer with empty document
1. Add table
2. save as HTML
3. File->Reload
Expected: size of table resembles original
Actually: cells have double hight

Changing version to 3.3.0 as most early reproducible due to comment 1

Still the same with LibreOffice 5.2.1. (Windows 7 64bits and MacOSX 10.11.6)

A paragraph is automatically included in every cell, when saving to HTML format from Writer.

Comment 12 jmgigandet 2019-10-09 07:14:51 UTC
Bug still present on 6.3.1.2
It has never been corrected since OpenOffice 3.0.
So it seems that nobody use Writer as an HTML editor. May be developpers should remove this option ?
