unity desktop libreoffice display problem

any pop up window, say search and replace, etc., does not show any text on all buttons, fewer text inside drop down boxes

this happens in Unity and Gnome3 versions only. The same installation works fine in Gnome classic version

attached is a snapshot of the same in Unity desktop

I wonder if it is related to the experimental GTK3 support.

Hmm, the GTK3 support is not enabled in the official build from TDF. Mohan, which LibreOffice build and version are you using? Do you have packages provided by Ubuntu maintainer or your own build?

Wow - that is quite sexy :-) It looks like there is a font problem - can you change the display font ?

What if you export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen - do you get a better experience ?

Are you using the gtk3 code ? [ ie. do you have the 'experimental' option enabled ? - I'd assume not. ]

Bjoern - I can't reproduce this, I guess it's yours :-)

Not reproducable here on unity with gtk2. So yeah: Did you install libreoffice-gtk3?
Comment 4 Björn Michaelsen 2012-03-20 16:50:38 UTC
assuming gtk3 problem, lowering prio/severity

seems to be a temporary issue.

update manager updated the libreoffice installation and it seems to have needed a reboot.

When rebooted unintentionally, worked fine.
