Description merkursports 2012-03-24 14:54:04 UTC
Since several versions of OO and today LO, I am missing a function in draw, that let me stretch simmetrically a text object, either horizontally or vertically.

It was able to do, pressing alt key and drag with the mouse. Be careful, I am saying simmetrically, not proportionally.

Today, under linux, I have found that when I do this, LO window become smaller, either it be a text object or a drawing object (ellipse, square, etc.)

Under windows, it can only stretch drawing objects, did not work on text objects.

When I work with texts I am setting "text adjusted to frame".

Thanks for bugreport
Let take ellipse for simplicity:
in 3.3.4 on Fedora it works with holding ALT (stretch simmetrically)
in 3.5.4 on Fedora not works. Alt enables "Snap to grid". May be it possible to configure somewhere. Or it is unfinished functionality. Or regression.
in 3.5.2 on Windows not works. Alt does nothing

I said , a text object, not a picture. Yes it works with pictures only today, but it was able to do with text object before like I comment at Bug 47916

With text object (from "Draw" toolbar) not working even in 3.3.4 version

> I said , a text object, not a picture.
Ellipsis is a drawing object. Not a picture.

Possible workaround: place small picture, press F2, enter needed text, use stretch simmetrically
Comment 5 merkursports 2012-07-14 14:54:01 UTC
Enclosed is a file where you see a picture showing a simmetrically enlarged text box, and the next picture show enlarged text after release mouse button. Pitifully display printer did not catch mouse pointer.
These images was made under OO 2.4 under Windows 98

Windows 98? You need a new OS.

Is this persisting with LO 4.4b2? If so, please do provide exact reproduce steps in the form of 1., 2., 3. and ideally a test file this can easily be reproduced with.

Version set from description.

If inherited from OOo, then not a LibreOffice regression -> regression keyword removed.
