When using VLOOKUP(), it returns false #N/A.

Apparently occurs when there are special characters. In this case "(" and "[".
In the spreadsheet I created for test, column A in page Libros_1 are equal to column A in page Libros_2.

I use Ubuntu 11.10

Same here with Windows 7 and 3.5.3 or 3.5.4rc1

Apparently it is a configuration problem.

I go through Tools/Options/LibreOffice Calc/Calc. Then uncheck the "Allow regular expressions in formulas" option and it works.
(My system is in Spanish so they may not be the exact words.)

However, the next time I start the program, I have to repeat the steps.

This option is a "per document" setting. The option is stored within the doc, so you don't have to repeat when reopening the same doc.
Changing only affect the document in use and new created documents, not alredy created docs.
