The graphic style associated with the text box in the example file contains style:overflow-behavior="clip", which should cause the text to be clipped, since it cannot fit inside the text-box. However, this behavior is *not* observed in libreoffice draw.

Confirmed. How did you give it the style? By editing inside the container file?

Win 7 64-bit Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha1+

Set version number after reproducing with:

LibreOffice 3.3.0
OOO330m19 (Build:6)
tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4

Style is "Fit height to text" while direct formatting of this option at position and size is unchecked. The behavior is the same in Writer, no idea what the OP expects.
Comment 5 Regina Henschel 2016-06-15 12:45:12 UTC
The ODF attribute "style:overflow-behavior" is not implemented at all. So this is a valid enhancement request.
