Description freddi34 2013-02-23 20:49:55 UTC
When pasting formatted text into Impress, the undo action is incomplete and retains the formatting. This means the copy&paste action is not completely reversible.

Steps to reproducs:
1. Write in Impress "ab".
2. Write in Writer "c" and add formatting (italic, red).
3. Copy "c" from Writer and paste it in Impress between "a" and "b".
4. Press the "Undo" button in Impress.
5. Click between "a" and "b" and write "d". It will have the same formatting (italic, red) as the last character that had been pasted inbetween.

Expected behavior: "d" should have the same formatting as the surrounding text "ab".

Were able to reproduce it with LO 4.0.0.3. It only happens when you don't move the cursor before tipping something.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (4.4.0.3 or later): https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)

Thank you for your help!

Comment #1 is still valid for me with LibreOffice 4.4.2.0.0+ built at home under Ubuntu 14.10. If I move the cursor away from the place where I pasted the copied text (click outside the text area, move the cursor inside the text area using right or left arrow key), go back to the same place and type something, then the formatting is the one of surrounding characters, as expected.

Is it a bug or not ? Set status to NEEDINFO.

Best regards. JBF
