WFM with Version 4.0.2.2 (Build ID: 4c82dcdd6efcd48b1d8bba66bfe1989deee49c3) @Win8

Saving & opening works fine. Tried with fresh user profile?

I'm not the original submitter, but I am seeing this hang also on saving.

It would appear to be only when I've pasted in an image from the web that
the saving causes LibreOffice to become unresponsive.

The document I'd be saving, wouldn't have to be that big, and also is using the default ODT format.

Visually, it looks like the save has already completed, in that the progress bar
displaying the save progress has gone to 100%, and is gone off screen then.

The CPU would appear to be working at approx 20% for a time when this is happening, but I've been unable to get any more information than that. If I leave it for a few minutes then I find that it completes and I'm able to continue to edit.

It's quite frustrating though - I'm a regular user of LibreOffice on Mac, and have never seen this, and previously, on Win XP didn't either. But since updating to Win 8, I've observed this a lot.

I should probably mention that I've tried the latest builds too, with no improvement.
Comment 6 tommy27 2014-01-05 09:17:48 UTC
probably Win8 specific. I do not see freeze under Win7 64bit and WinXp 32bit.

@Thomas and Dar
are you computers 32 or 64 bit systems?

Its driving me craszy. Freezing while working is the horror. I have this issue with win7 x64 (all updates so far installed) and LibreOffice 4.3.5.2.

Is it possibly the SSD under the hood? My WebDav account I have added? No clue, because there is not error message, just windows keep being unresponsive when I try to save the file.
Comment 9 tommy27 2015-06-23 12:13:20 UTC
I don't see any freeze issue using LibO 4.4.3.2 using both a Win7 x64 with regular HD and a Win8.1 x64 with a SSD.

please retest with a 4.4.x release with a fresh user profile and tell if issue persists.

some more info

i'm confronted with de freeze problem since V4 en still in V5
under windows seven

cpu is idle, memory is free
but the libreoffice windows are freezed
after a while (some minutes) i've got a windows msg that says something like
"appli is not responding wait for it or close it"
if you wait most often libreofice wake up afer 5 or 10 minutes waiting (about)

if you close the libreoffice windows most of the time it will be damaged

* the files are mainly microsoft type (doc.docx, xls) because of team workers

* several files open (3 or more) with calc or writer when the freeze come

? i think the freeze is linked with the autosave feature
?? maybe the popup warnig about potentiel format losses wich asking to change the file type or not doesn't display and so lock the save process

==> il will try to uncheck the box "ask before saving if format is not odf or default format"

sorry the wording if not exactly that, i tried a translation from my language
