Created attachment 79610 [details] This is the bug report when I try to launch LibreOffice 4.0.3.3 Problem description: LibreOffice will not start Steps to reproduce: 1. I double-click on the icon of LibreOffice 2. Few seconds later, I have the bug report attached 3. Relaunch option does the same bug… Current behavior: Can't use LibreOffice Expected behavior: Use LibreOffice Operating System: Mac OS X Version: 4.0.3.3 release Last worked in: 3.4.1 release
Hi, thanks for reporting. I can not reproduce this behavior using Mac OSX 10.8.3 with LibreOffice 4.0.3.3. So is it possible to reset your user profile (following https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resetting_the_user_profile) and retest? Kind regards, Joren PS: if you tested it and left a comment, please mark this bug back to UNCONFIRMED
Hi Joren, My problem is worst because LibreOffice don't arrive to create the LibreOffice folder in ~/Library/Application Support and any preference file in the ~/Library/Preferences folder. In fact, LibreOffice run just for saying "I don't want working" if you authorize me this little joke. I give you, in attached file, the configuration report of my Mac. Before, I had verified that Mac OS X and LibreOffice are up-to-date. Kind regards, Marc. did you try to uninstall LibO and make a fresh new install?
(In reply to comment #3) > did you try to uninstall LibO and make a fresh new install? I would like, but there is nothing to uninstall because the application crash before it can install anything. :(
mmmh.... so the problem happens during first installation, right? did you try to download again the installation package (maybe your is corrupted)? did you ever install previous versions of LibO? if yes, is there any LibO version still installed on your Mac?

I download LibO 3 times. 1 time from LibO french site, et and 2 times from LibO official website and I have always the same problem. The install is easy : drag LibO in the Application folder, but the first run (that create all other files and folders needed) stopped always before the creation of theses items. 2. I have the same problem with LibO 3.6.6. But I can't find any older version of LibO 3. No
I'm a Windows user and I have no idea of what's going wrong. I'm gonna "CC" Thorsten who's the Mac expert. maybe he can help.

I use Mac OS X 10.8.3 (and the bugzilla reply link ;) ). At this link, you can download the configuration of my Mac and one bug report : 1. Alex/Roman: did you ever encounter a similar problem to this one? Any suggestion?
Marc: This sounds really strange. Just as Jorendc I cannot reproduce this problem with any 4.x LO build on OS X 10.8.3. Until now we don't know which OS X you are using. That would be key to get starting to solve this issue. Also did you run a tool like Onyx to fix potentially broken permission issues on your OS X system? http://www.titanium.free.fr/downloadonyx.php Let us know your findings and re-set the bug to UNCONFIRMED after doing so.

I have Mac OS X 10.8.3 and my first action after this bug (before contacting you) is to fix the broken permission. I also tried to remove FileVault but the bug is always here. I tried too re-install LibO with a new download from the official site, but nothing change.

Marc: taking a look again to the crash logs, I searched about "BUG IN CLIENT OF LIBDISPATCH: Do not close random Unix descriptors" and found this comment from Roman: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56286#c2 Could you try to apply what he advised in this comment and tell us if it helps?

Hi Julien So I tried to make the same things that is on your report bug and on the site discribed on this solution bug the problem is still there. I have this bug only with LibreOffice (This may be a deliberate blocking Apple ;) ). There is an update of OS X and I tried these manipulations after the update.
Hi everybody, I found the solution of the problem. It's a little application that costumize the UI of Mac OS X. It's name is Flavours (flavours.interacto.net). When it's installed, I have the trouble that I described with LibreOffice, and when I uninstall Flavours, I have no problem with LibreOffice. So I make a choice : trash Flavours until a new version which correct this. Thanks a lot to help me. M. Blériot. Marc: Thank you for your feedback, it's great you found the cause of the problem! (I put it as INVALID since it's related to Flavours) Roman: Flavours is a new hint to quote in your great questionnaire (at least, I'll do it :-))
