For example in Writer
menu Format > Font .. tab Font Effects
unfold list Font Color
 > the list is only two items long
   (only Automatic and Black are visible)

same for all other lists

this is ugly and not handy

As far as I can tell this is fixed now in 4.2.X and 4.1.X
