Description Joel Madero 2013-08-23 21:35:42 UTC
As discussed on both ESC and QA call several times, one of our primary missions is to be transparent. Part of being transparent is letting users know if they are doing something which we don't support. Currently we have no way to really do this other than wiki's and other very intense manual setups.

It would be great if someone developed a warning dialog that warns users if they are doing something which will not be correctly saved/imported/etc...within the product. An example of this was our extensive discussion about file paths with xls format in Spreadsheet.

The more we let users know, the more headaches are avoided "after the fact"

I know that this is quite the challenge to implement but ultimately we'd be doing a great service to our users.

Thanks all

I am not familiar with the file paths problem with xls format in Spreadsheet.. can you give a more detailed example?

I agree with Joel's proposition.

As it is an enhancement request, I set it to NEW, until somebody proves that it is not possible or too expensive to do that. ;-)

Best regards. JBF

I mark this as dupe of the newer bug as there is more activity.
