With LO 4.0, the baseline for Mac OS X has been raised to 10.6, see <http://www.libreoffice.org/download/4-0-new-features-and-fixes/>, section "Feature Removal / Deprecation": "Deprecated Mac / PPC as a platform, raising our base-line to 10.6."

still states:

The software and hardware prerequisites for installing on a Macintosh computer are as follows:

MacOSX 10.4 (Tiger) or higher;
Intel or PowerPC processor;
(Note: as of LibreOffice v.4.1 support for PowerPC has been dropped);
512 Mb RAM;
Up to 800 Mb available hard disk space;
1024x768 graphic device with 256 colors (higher resolution recommended).
