Cursor in 1st paragraph (above the table)
Shft+Down
 > cursor moves in table without selecting

or
Drag mouse down
 > cursor moves in table without selecting

Behaviour was that a selection is made.

Only with shift+click above>below the table, it can be selected

Was OK in 4.2.0 alpha1 and not OK in 4.2.0 beta1

I just test it with Version: 4.2.0.1; Build ID: 7bf567613a536ded11709b952950c9e8f7181a4a and everything is fine with selection part of text including table.

Ubuntu Linux 13.04, 32 bit. 

Solved for me.
