Example of (failed) printout on Linux

Problem description:
When attempting to print basic code on Linux, all that prints out is the header and frame for the page. No code is printed. Note, for the same document and code, this will work on Windows.

Steps to reproduce:
1. On Linux, edit the Library / Module of interest
2. Select Print (all printers exhibit the same behavior)
3. Preview pane looks correct but the printout is missing the code

I have placed a small document and two example PDF files of what the printout looks like on Linux as well as Windows in a public readable folder on Google Drive (paste the following into a browser):
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Bz1FnHK_vX8SQkZFZDNlcE9qOG8&usp=sharing

There is an example printout as seen on Linux can be found in the file "LibreOffice-print-code-example-20140428a_odt_CodeExamples_Linux.pdf" and a pdf printout as seen on windows is found in "LibreOffice-print-code-example-20140428a.odt_Windows.pdf"
Current behavior:

Expected behavior:

Operating System: Fedora
Version: 4.2.3.3 release

Sorry about the extra text in the original description. I had also made the same files available on Google Drive and shared them. This was before I noticed that there was a way to upload files associated with the bug report.

Bug still exists with
Version: 5.2.4.2
Build-ID: 3d5603e1122f0f102b62521720ab13a38a4e0eb0
CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.1; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: kde4;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group

Tested with OpenSUSE 42.1 64bit rpm Linux.

When printing into a *.pdf and copying the seemingly empty content into clipboard and back to writer the content is there. Seems the code has been printed with white characters on a white background.

Nothing happens to this bug for a long time. I think "BASIC" is the wrong component. Will change this to "Printing and PDF export".
Comment 8 Doug Hutcheson 2017-03-27 04:25:39 UTC
This bug (feature?) still exists in LO 5.3.1.2-2
Fedora 25 fully updated, acer Core i7, 8Gb

I only have Linux so cannot comment on its relevance to Windows.

LibreOffice 5.2.6.2
Ubuntu 16.04

Prints to file and printer both printing border and heading, but no contents.

Print preview shows basic code correctly.

CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

Its almost the same behavior here with LO 7.0.4.2. The code has been printed with white characters on a white background.
Tested with OpenSUSE 15.2 64bit rpm Linux.
