Platform: Ubuntu Linux 14.04 x64

Appears like custom cell styles are broken in 4.3 spreadsheet.

1. Open Spreadsheet
2. F11 to open styles
3. Right click and select NEW
4. Create some random style that is noticeable
5. Try to apply it to a cell

Observed: Doesn't apply

Expected: Applies ;)

This has already been fixed in, 4.4beta1 and 4.5 master.

Bibisecting the fix in 44alpha2only points to the range of source-hash-e23806fb815f7e419bb04de11dcb5707c4120eaa - based on the commits in this range, it's quite likely that the fix in question was:

Resolves: fdo#79142 When Creating Styles - The 2nd One Always Replaces the 1st
    regression from 0c17ccc493d0c7a80f37600dae76a09a119bef78
I think it might actually make more sense for SetName to always Reindex
and have another SetNameNoReindex for selective use where its known
safe to get away with it
