Issue - many of us are using larger screens for desktop work - it would be useful for Users to be able to add Sticky Notes to documents we are composing in Writer.

Sticky Notes (see attached screenshot) are NOT Comments - they serve a different function for the writer - for example as reminders in the construction of a first draft - allowing the writer to arrange ideas on the page before committing to any sequence.

Comments serve more of an editing - collaborating function - for example helping to make transition from 1st to 2nd drafts.

Thanks.

LibreOffice is powered by a team of volunteers, every bug is confirmed (triaged) by human beings who mostly give their time for free. We invite you to join our triaging by checking out this link:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugTriage

There are also other ways to get involved including with marketing, UX, documentation, and of course developing - http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/.

Lastly, good bug reports help tremendously in making the process go smoother, please always provide reproducible steps (even if it seems easy) and attach any and all relevant material

Nothing to add from UX POV. Screenshot looks fine, would be just a simple, free floating widget with a text input (close/remove per context menu). Could be enhanced by the comment-per-author coloring scheme.

Doubt this feature is ODF conform and it wont be available cross-application. Could be limited to LibreOffice with the drawback that dealing with different applications probably clears the notes. What do you think, Michael, Regina?
