Problem description: opening documents in Libreoffice make the mouse cursor vanish

Steps to reproduce:
1. open a document
2. try to click on the open page will not show th arrow cursor
3. clicking out of the Libreoffice window will reveal the mouse cursor again.

Current behavior:

Expected behavior: cursor should be visible all the time

Sounds like bug 71278, although that was supposedly specific to impress (presentation application).
