Downloaded 4.2.5.2 as rpm and installed after uninstalling the previous version of Libreoffice. Install had unpack problems but finally installed all modules. When trying to start soffice I get the following error: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException' Happens every time I try to run 4.2.5.2
If you had some unpack problems perhaps it means the rpm wasn't complete. Please try to uninstall LO 4.2.5 and download again LO package from official website http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ You can check md5 by comparing it with http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/4.2.5/rpm/x86_64/LibreOffice_4.2.5_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz.mirrorlist Waiting for your feedback
Thank you Julien, I downloaded again, this time using Bittorrent. I checked the sha1sum and it was correct. Previoulsy the sha256 was correct. On install many of the packages failed with the message: unpack error for libobasis_4.2-core05-4.2.5.2-2.x86_64. I just stopped there and reinstalled 4.2.4.2 on my system. While I understand that the download may have had problems, this signatures have been OK both times I downloaded, so I am not sure what I can do on my side at this point.
Thank you for your feedback What's your Linux distribution + version? Could you give the output of this command: java -version (indeed Base and Java are quite bound)
Sorry I forgot to ask you about detailed error logs during install. If there are a lot, don't hesitate to put this in a file and attach it by using this link (which allows attachment+comments): https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?bugid=80330&action=enter
I am using Magiea3 x86_64 java version "1.7.0_55" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (mageia-2.4.7.1.mga3-x86_64 u55-b13) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.51-b03, mixed mode) third time must be a charm. I removed both packages (LO and the help one). Downloaded a third time. Checked md5sum and they were OK. Install now went without a hitch. I guess we can close this bug
Ok perhaps you had some remnants elements. Let's put WFM.
