Description Michael Mohr 2014-06-28 14:30:19 UTC
Problem description:
I regularly deal with reports that require a change of page orientation changing from landscape to portrait or portrait to landscape at the change of section. The current Writer improperly applies orientation to the whole document, not the section.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a word document consisting of six or more pages.
2. In the middle of the document, insert a Section break and change the page orientation from portrait to landscape.
3. Proceed a few more pages and insert another Section break and again, change the page orientation.

Current behavior:
The whole document conforms to the latest page format, not the section.

Expected behavior:
Only the current section should be affected by the page format.

Operating System: Windows 8
Version: 4.1.6.2 release

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your report.
However achieving what you describe, always works for me, when done properly.

I guess that it's best to first ask for user-support. For example there is a group of users with a great variety of skills that can offer help with questions:

So for now I close as WORKSFORME. Might there turn out to be a problem in some specific details, then pls reopen with those details.

Kind regards
Cor

I wonder if this is a compatibility issue with a document started in Microsoft Office? The document contains pages of tables designed for landscape presentation followed by a short section of tables designed for portrait presentation. Due to a clerical error, the section break was deleted causing the portrait section to appear in landscape. I inserted a section break and attempted to format the pages to portrait orientation. The result was the whole document changing to portrait, not the current section as expected. Moving to the landscape section and changing the page format to landscape resulted in a change to the portrait section as well.
