Description Ares Starčić 2014-08-14 07:45:54 UTC
Problem description:
When inserting an object from the gallery and copy/pasting the same object at least two times Libreoffice Draw crashes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open an existing drawing or new one
2. Open the gallery from Tools > Gallery
3. Choose a symbol and drag'n'drop it onto the document
4. Copy the object (Ctrl-C or by context menu)
5. Paste the object and move it somwhere else on the document
6. Paste one or more times and the application crashes

Current behavior:
LibreOffice Draw crashes after pasting an object a few times.

Expected behavior:
LibreOffice Draw doesn't crash when pasting an object multiple times.

Operating System: Windows 8
Version: 4.3.0.4 release
Last worked in: 4.2.6.2 release

Tried several times, but I can't reproduce on LO 4.3.0.4 - Ubuntu 12.04 x86

Ares, have you tried resetting user profile: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

Just tried that but didn't work. As I mentioned, the bug is on Windows only, so I guess you cannot test it on linux without a VM...

Cannot reproduced using LO 4.3.0.4 & Windows 7 Home Premium.
As mentionned by ing_christian, can you try with a fresh profile?

Thank you,

Jacques

I HAVE tried with a new profile, doesn't change a bit.
While installing a portable LO 4.2.5 the bug is absent on the same machine!

It seems Win8 only Jacques. I saw some bugs that only occured in Win8 but not in Win7.

Dear bug submitter,

In order to confirm your bug we need a document. If possible the document should be minimalistic. If you need to anonymize your document, follow this link: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Anonymizing_a_document#How_can_I_eliminate_confidential_data_from_a_sample_document.3F

Tested with Windows 7 with LibO Master. Failed reproducing the bug

Hi, sorry for the wait... OK, so I've tested all the releases of 4.3.x and can attest that all have the bug. It's present on WIndows 7 and 8. Don't know if it's specific to 64bit versions ow windows but it stays... I've attached a simple odg file with a graphic on it. If you try to copy it many times (at least twice I guess, and/or move the copied object around LO crashes!

A LO Drawing with only one object from the gallery, crashes while copying multiple times the object.

I've originally had the problem with 4.0.X but after installing the fresh 4.3.3.2 the bus still remains!

Tested on:
Windows 8.1
LibreOffice 4.3.5.2

Cannot reproduce any crash.

@Ares: Can you provide a backtrace of this issue? It seems like it's something particular to your setups because literally no one else is seeing it.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg

I am setting this back to NEEDINFO - without more to figure out what it is about your systems that is causing this...there really isn't much we can do. If you can get a backtrace and attach it, then set the bug to UNCONFIRMED. That could help.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
