Hello, I have repeatedly experienced problems with Libre Office Impress in that the screen freezes and the CPU usage gets close to 100% when I use or show a relatively small file of 3.5M (attached). I have searched the web for solutions but have not had any useful hints. I am using an ACer AMD C-70 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics × 2,with 3.6 G of RAM, and Ubuntu 14.04. I would appreciate your help. Thanks
We need more information. 1. Your operating system 2. A test file with reproducible steps 3. Version of LibreOffice 4. Is this a new problem? Regression? Happened for a long time? Does this happen every time? Marking as NEEDINFO - once you provide more information please set to UNCONFIRMED. I suspect it might be something with the video card but I could be wrong.
Hello, I am using Linux Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and LibreOffice version 4.3.1.2. I attached in my mail the file there the problem is systematically generated every time after reach slide # 30. I have monitored the use of RAM memory and CPU time as the presentation (it is a class) unfolds. I have found that the % of used RAM memory stays constant (roughly 30-40%), but that the % of CPU used reaches 100% with one of the processors and 70-80% with the other, and that they alternate such that one of them is always at 100% of use. Before writing to the blog, I had tried to change the amount of RAM memory allocated to LibreOffice, the number of objects and a few other options in the Tools-->Options-->Memory menu, and have disable the "use antialiasing" in the Tools-->Options-->View menu. After these changes there were very slight improvements but the Impress presentation gets always frozen or very slow when I reach slide # 30, which is when the % CPU used gets close to 100%. Any help would be appreciated.
