LibreOffice Ver. 4.2.7.2 Build ID: 420m0(Build: 2) preinstalled on Ubuntu Desktop 14.04 (32-Bit downloaded from Ubuntu.com). In writer, attempting to add sound from "Gallery," links (to be dragged into document) to sounds are shown with location (home/.../.config/libreoffice/4/user/gallery/sounds/*.wav). Sounds don't work. In an attempt to locate actual designated sound files, files and, for that matter, the sounds folder, are missing in that location and I could not locate them elsewhere either. Any chance that sounds folder can be sent? Thanks.

Sounds don't > work. In LibreOffice 4.3.5 (our latest and greatest release), I see some sounds that install in /opt: /opt/libreoffice4.3/share/gallery/sounds/cow.wav I've got 4.2.7 installed on Ubuntu 14.04 as well, and I don't see a cow.wav installed with it. Perhaps it's in a separate package in Ubuntu?

How are you attempting to add sounds from "Gallery" ? I'm not sure if I understand how you're accessing files on disk. Please provide a set of steps to reproduce the problem. Thanks!
