In Presentation Mode changing slides does not work properly. Hitting Left / Right Button has no visible effect at first. You have to click right (open context menu) and then click left (close context menu) to make the slide change visible. This behaviour is only for some users (Windows 7 network). It does not depend on the computer. So I think it has something to do with the user profile, but it could be the registry too, or something else. The behaviour appears with Version 4.3 and Version 5.
Please investigate the user profile: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided more information.
I have renamed the user profile. A new profile was automatically created, but it did not solve the problem.
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Finally the IT-Team of our school district found a solution: Disabling hardware acceleration solves the problem. Go to: Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View > Graphics output And disable: Use hardware acceleration
Andreas, when you wrote version 5, which version did you mean exactly? Disabling hardware acceleration reduces performance, and thus isn't desirable, therefore if you could give it a try with the latest version (5.3.0 or 5.2.5) with default settings, the feedback would be appreciated.
In the meantime I tested in a VM with versions 4.4.0.3 and 5.0.0.5, and didn't encounter this. I wonder what this could be depending on.
Aaron, I cannot see the version now, but I remember it was below 5.2.5. Maybe it has something to do with the driver of the display card. It is an Intel-driver. I will ask the IT-support of our school to install version 5.3.0 on one of our PCs to test it again. But installation can take a little time. I will give you results afterwards. The IT-support was not able to reproduce the problem with remote servicing via VNC. Maybe this is also a hint for the source of the problem.
The problem appears on version 5.0.6.3. I will test it with the latest version, as soon as I can get it installed.
We have tested it with the version 5.3.0.3 (x64). The problem is still the same as with the older versions.
The IT-support team for our school has finally found the reason for this strange behavior. We have a software installed that allows the teacher to show the screen of the pupils. This software uses the Microsoft Mirror Display Driver. When the this driver is used, Direct Draw is turned off. This behavior is intentional from Microsoft. The problem only exists in Windows 7. In Windows 10 the problem does not occur.
