If you you try to insert an invalid parameter in the From Top or From Left LO crashes. It also crashes if you press Align to text body. STEPS: *Tools -> Mail Merge Wizard *Proceed to step 5 completing the previous steps *Write a letter, a negative number or a big number in From Top or From Left text fields, also notice that if you press Align to text body LO crashes. *Press Next. This step is VERY IMPORTANT because pressing Enter doesn't make LO crash. Versions 5.2 and 5.3 are not affected, but Fresh and Still are. The crash cause complete loss of data, especially if you had a big document. Suggested to change severity from normal to major because crash and data loss
(In reply to Marco Filippozzi from comment #0) > *Press Next. This step is VERY IMPORTANT because pressing Enter doesn't make > LO crash. I clicked Finish. It didn't crash. Backtrace would be cool. Critical is reserved for issues that will effect a significant portion of users who use LibreOffice daily. Mail merge is pretty small use so lowering to Major which still incorporates crashes. Also I suggest trying with a fresh profile: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile Thanks
Marco: I saw you had tested 5.1.3, would you have some time to give a try to 5.1.4? I know there's been some work on mailmerge but I don't know if it has been integrated in 5.1 branch.
Version 5.1.4.2 on Windows 10. LibreOffice writer crashes when trying to type in a specific vertical spacing for the address block in mail merge, "Fatal Error No RT Data". Crashes with no error message - application just freezes and is terminated if the vertical spacing is changed using the arrow buttons on the field.
Tony: could you try with a fresh master build? There have been lots of MM crash fixes: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86@42/current/
Hello Marco, *, thank you very much for reporting this bug :) I can confirm it with OS: Debian testing LO: Version: 5.0.0.0.beta3 Build-ID: 96345c15d8ab19c49014f055fe41ba8e1f421e5c Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8) LO: Version: 5.0.0.5 Build-ID: 437e4abdf9e72fd0a6e6f8697a0e659bc77f9b10 Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8) up to LO: Version: 5.1.6.1 Build-ID: f3e25ec0581f5012f54d8810dcddd5824f4ee374 CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard; Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group but not in LO: Version: 4.4.7.2 Build-ID: f3153a8b245191196a4b6b9abd1d0da16eead600 Gebietsschema: de_DE.UTF-8 so setting version to "5.0.0.5 release" (as this is the oldest from the version picker as far as I can see) and changing the status to "NEW". Additionally I will attach a backtrace as well as a strace log later. HTH Thomas.

On pc Debian testing x86-64 with LO Debian package 5.2.3.3, I don't reproduce this. At step 5, "Next" button is disabled, there's only "Finish" button enabled. Also, checking or unchecking "Align" checkbox doesn't make LO crash for me. I also tested to put a letter on negative number. In first case, when clicking then on another part, it puts back the former value, in second case, it puts value 0. Did I miss something?
I couldn't reproduce with master. Cannot put negative number. If I press Align to text body LO doesn't crash. MMW was redesigned from 5.2 and this report was for previous version. Also, nobody replied to Julien's question. So, for the sake of efficiency, I'll close this one as WorksForMe. But please feel free and kindly ask to test yourself with current versions 5.2.7, 5.3.4 and 5.4.0. Please set back to New if reproduced again.
