I have a 14 page document with many in-line LibreOffice Math equations and anchored images from LibreOffice Draw. When I edit an equation by clicking on it the screen realigns to make room for the element view on the left side. This takes several seconds with fragments of the other views visible. Then the LibreOffice screen becomes grey for a few seconds. A similar sequence happens in reverse when I close the equation editor. Inserting new equations is equally slow. This problem only recently started (July 2016). Prior to that the document did not slow down while editing equations. Finally, I would be willing to email the file that has begun freezing the machine, if you wish. I have gradually increased the memory allocated to LibreOffice in Tools/Options/Memory to 900 MBs with no change in performance. I have also used the System Monitor to watch the CPU activity during an equation edit. In each case one of the CPUs peaks at 100%. I am running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with 7.7 GiB of memory and and Intel Core i&-377OS CPU @ 3.10 GHz x 8 with a 64-bit OS and 1.0 TB of disk space.

If not in its current form, please anonymize it in a way that preserves the problematic behavior and attach it to the report. Set to NEEDINFO. Created attachment 126678 [details] Problematic file with lots of formula objects I am seeing the same behavior on 5.1.5.1 (Build ID: 5.1.5.1-2.fc24). I am attaching my document. Editing the formula object on page 10 will freeze LibreOffice, and a few seconds later locks up my entire machine.
I forgot to mention that the lock-up usually occurs when I am copying or cutting text from one formula object and pasting it into another.
(In reply to richard-oss from comment #3) > I forgot to mention that the lock-up usually occurs when I am copying or > cutting text from one formula object and pasting it into another. No problem for me Win 7 Pro 64-bit, Version: 5.2.0.4 (x64) Build ID: 066b007f5ebcc236395c7d282ba488bca6720265 CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Windows 6.1; UI Render: default; Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI)
I can't reproduce your issue on Libre Office 5.2.2.2 on Ubuntu 16.10. However I see a similiar issue when I'm not full screen and try to change the size of the window.
Hello Benjamin, *, thank you very much for reporting this bug :) I cannot reproduce it with OS: Debian Testing AMD64 LO: Version: 5.1.6.2 Build-ID: 07ac168c60a517dba0f0d7bc7540f5afa45f0909 CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard; Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group (parallel installed with "dpkg -i /path/to/*.deb") nor with LO: Version: 5.2.3.3 Build-ID: 1:5.2.3-2 CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: gtk3; Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group (Debian's own version) nor with LO: Version: 5.1.4.2 Build-ID: f99d75f39f1c57ebdd7ffc5f42867c12031db97a CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard; Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8) (parallel installed, following the instructions from https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux) sorry ... :( Would you be so kind to test it with a newer version than 5.1.4.2, please? And does this bug only occur with our version or are you using Ubuntu's version of LO? If your bug is only reproducible with Ubuntu's version, it would be nice, if you close this bug here and search for it on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice to see if it is already reported, and if not to report it there ... ;) Have a nice Sunday Thomas.
