Please test changing the option for Use OpenGL in: Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View

Also, I’d recommend that you switch to one of the official LibreOffice icon themes, instead of that incomplete, broken Faenza theme that Linux Mint bundles. That is why you’re seeing text instead of icons in some places.
