This would be helpful to users whose want to edit equations, even if they have no M$ Equation Editor but their documents has these editor based equations. Maybe this can be done after bug 101100 is fixed.

That is a valid enhancement request. And for the Microsoft Equation Editor the specifications are available, so it is possible in principle.

This is different from the problem in bug 101100.
