In Writer...If you high-lite a file name and click "open" the file opens ok...if you double click the file name the program locks up and you must force a close to the application.
Which version of LibreOffice are you using, and what's your OS? Does it happen every single time (upon double clicking), and with other LibreOffice applications as well?
Sorry for the late reply. Please try with a recent LibreOffice version, v5.1.5 or v5.2.1. (I got an e-mail from the reporter that LibreOffice version is 5.1.1.3, OS is Windows XP, and only Writer is affected, Calc isn't)
Reporter e-mailed that they tried with updated version (did not specify which one), and the lock-up on double click still happens. I tried opening an ODT file with v5.2.2.1/Windows XP via double click, opened fine. Returning status to UNCONFIRMED.
Do you have some shell extensions installed (software that adds entries in files' context menus and new property pages)?
(In reply to Urmas from comment #4) > Do you have some shell extensions installed (software that adds entries in > files' context menus and new property pages)? reporter: please answer this. And please verify you tested with 5.2.x. Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.
I did install 5.2.2.2 I do not know what shell extensions are and dont know if I have any installed. After installing the updated version I tried to open various documents: The first document I double clicked on was from an external My Passport drive. The program locked up. I forced a close and restarted I double clicked on the same file and it opened just fine. I then double clocked on a document from my thumb drive or flash drive...document opened just fine. I then double clicked on a document on my My Documents directory and the program locked up
This problem does not verify on this version: Version: 5.0.6.2 Build ID: 1:5.0.6-0ubuntu1~precise1 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)
