Hello Within libreoffice Calc under MacOSX, if you cut to the buffer something with formatting somewhere in 3rd party app and try to find this <Cmd+F> in Calc, it will start "import" instead of paste to find field without formating
I think that this is probably a known issue, with regard to the Find window not receiving the focus, let me check.
CTAC : Can you provide step by step detailed instructions so that I can try and reproduce ? Setting to NEEDINFO, please set back to UNCONFIRMED once you have provided the requested information
No repro for me with Version: 5.2.0.4 Build ID: 066b007f5ebcc236395c7d282ba488bca6720265 CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Mac OS X 10.11.6; UI Render: default; Locale: en-GB (fr.UTF-8) If I select some text from a web page that has bold/italic formatting, and then drag and drop paste that into the Cmd-F window, the text is selected into the search field. Please try with an updated version of LibreOffice (5.2.0) and report back. If what I've described is not what you are doing, please be more specific.

Probably it is some duplicate of "find lost focus" Steps to reproduce: under MacOSX+russian language installed 1. Install Libreoffice 5.2.1.2 2. Install Russian Language pack LibreOffice_5.2.1_MacOS_x86-64_langpack_ru.dmg 3. open https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101958 and select some text crossing some fields (shown in attachement) 4. Copy it to the clipboards: Cmd+C 4. Start new spreadsheet in LibreOffice calc 5. Press <Cmd+F> to start "Find" 6. Press <Cmd+V> - everything is fine 7. press ESC to close find 8. switch to russian keyboard (usually - <Cmd+Space>) 9. Press <Cmd+F> to start "Find" 10. Press <Cmd+V> - PROFIT!
@CTAC : thanks for the detailed explanation, with your help I was able to reproduce the problem. 1) Open a new Calc document 2) Copy some text from a browser 3) Cmd-F to open the Find dialog 4) Cmd-V to paste the copied text - the text is inserted into the Find dialog 5) Press the Esc key to quit the Find window 6) Switch to a different keyboard in the OSX system toolbar - it doesn't seem to matter which input you choose, I chose Arabic AZERTY keyboard and reproduced the problem. 7) Now re-open the Find toolbar in Calc with Cmd-F 8) Try to Cmd-V paste the text in the clipboard back into the Find dialog 9) LO thinks that the user wants to import an outside data source and starts the corresponding wizard.
