When Writer is launched and a new blank document is created, if the text style combobox is clicked, Writer becomes slow and unresponsive.
Can't reproduce on Debian/Sid, LibO 5.1.3.1. Version: 5.1.3.1 Build ID: 1:5.1.3~rc1-1 CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.5; UI Render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US.utf8) I am opening a new Writer instance. It opens with a new file. I clicked on the text style combobox (it says "Default style") and it drops down correctly. Clicking on it again it collapses back correctly. Maybe your default document is problematic? Can you reproduce it on a clean user profile? Can you reproduce it on a newer version? Best regards.
I have just reproduced the bug on Fedora 24 with LibO 5.1.5.2 and all the latest updates, too. When I opened the report, I was testing on RHEL 7.2. I am opening a new Writer instance. It opens with a new file. I click on the text style combobox (it says "Default style") and it drops down correctly after ~1.5 seconds (which is already a sign of the slowdown, in my opinion), but when I place the mouse cursor over different styles, it takes ~4 seconds for the hover effect to be displayed correctly.
I asked on IRC and it was suspected this is bug 102347. Danilo: could you test with http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF-dbg/current/ to see, if it is fixed? https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 102347, if the problem went away.
