In the bottom right corner of applications there's already a zoom slider, and a zoom level indicator on the status bar. Right click the percentage, and you get these choices, and even more. Isn't that good enough?

status bar and zoom slider is very small on hight. i have bad eyesight. select type of zoom from context menu of zoom slider uncomfortably also.
icons on Sidebar solve this problem

What's wrong with the menu View > Zoom? Would be easily accessible per Alt+VZO (you need to press alt together with V and can optionally release it then).

Nothing. But icons on Sidebar will big and allow changes zoom in one click. Anyway, bottom of the sidebar is blank

Alt+VZO? What is this? Shortcut?

Yes, it's the hotkey combination to reach the menu entry. I close this ticket as WORKSFORME since you agree with access via main menu. Status bars become more and more outdated (not my personal opinion) and should never be abused as toolbar/menu.

ahhh..Alt+V then Alt+Z then ALt+O - this is three actions

may be wontfix? and more:

All functional agrees with access via main menu. ALL! Your favorite HIG speaks this!

>Status bars become more and more outdated (not my personal opinion) and should never be abused as toolbar/menu.

Who speak about statusbar? I speak about Sidebar.

The alt key is needed only for the first activation. Once the menu is open you can press the keys to open the respective menu (works for all items, have a look for the underlined charcter, which is sometimes visible only when alt is pressed).

Oops, sorry. Maybe I mixed it up with the current zoom slider in the status bar.

Sidebar would be a WONTFIX since this control is reserved for context depended properties that are frequently used. Zoom is a global function and always relevant.
