Description Regina Henschel 2016-10-16 23:10:59 UTC
The new Area dialog in LO 5.3 has no way to load a custom bitmap palette. Loading an own bitmap palette for page and shape fillings is possible in the tab Bitmap of the Area dialog in LO 5.2.

I have used Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 92874f2f134d28b77163a21ff5d04c5234ca65b2
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Windows 6.1; UI Render: default;

Can you provide steps? I was able to import an image in area dialog and it worked fine. I'm not sure if this is different from a palette (I used just a normal jpg)

custom bitmap palette

1. Save the attached file, for example into the 'config' folder of your user profile data of the LO 5.2 installation.
2. Start Draw in LO 5.2.
3. Draw a shape and open its Area dialog.
4. Goto tab Bitmap. You will see bottom right two icons, one for saving a bitmap palette and one for loading such palette.
5. Click on 'Load'-icon and choose the custom palette you have saved in step 1.

Notice the change in the offered bitmap list.

The new Area dialog does no longer allow to generate and save and load such custom bitmap list.

Comment 4 Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) 2016-11-03 19:36:17 UTC
This was intentionally removed from the area dialog during the rework.
Comment 5 Heiko Tietze 2017-02-04 14:02:52 UTC
Additionally to the user defined palette and to recent colors that both work now perfectly, it is possible to add more palettes via extension. This change was done intentionally, as Jay commented.
