0. Launch LibO
1. open attached sample document, which has been created with AOO 4.2
2. Menu 'File (LibO dialog) → Save As → Type new name "x" → [Save]

tested under Win8.1 x64
not reproducible for me using LibO 5.1.5, 5.2.1 and latest 5.3.0 alpha1+

P.S. welcome back Reiner, nice to see you again in this bug tracker
Comment 2 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2016-11-05 15:43:52 UTC
c) also reproducible with fresh new User Profile
Comment 3 Julien Nabet 2016-11-05 15:45:24 UTC
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today + gtk3 and gen rendering, I don't reproduce this.
On console, I noticed these logs:
Exception-Message: empty style name reference
warn:legacy.osl:19656:1:basegfx/source/polygon/b2dtrapezoid.cxx:654: Trapezoid decomposer in illegal state (!)

(Great to see you around Rainer!)

No problem here.

Rainer: maybe you could try launching a WinDbg session and when it hangs, give this command in the WinDbg input field:
~*kp

I'm not a debugging expert, but Stuart has recommended that one for hangs & freezes. It might provide a useful backtrace.

We haven't added that tip to the article yet, but for general reference: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg

But I did not reproduced on:

Comment 6 Buovjaga 2016-12-11 12:04:37 UTC
Ok, let's set to NEW as it is reproducible in a living branch (5.2).
Comment 7 Aron Budea 2017-01-07 03:49:14 UTC
For me it's a crash, not a hang in 5.2.2.2 / Windows 7.
Not reproduced with 5.2.3.3 however.

Crash report in 5.2.2.2:
http://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/4f9a8ed2-9518-44ff-8549-389838134e96
Crash is in atioglxx.dll, so whatever happens happens in GPU driver, probably that's why we get different results.

Either way, I'm closing as WFM, please retest in a newer version, and reset to NEW if the hanging persists. Please also submit <user profile>/cache/opengl_device.log in that case.
