Created attachment 128519 [details] screenshot of Libreoffice Math "elementi" It's impossible to insert any formula. Symbol + (addition) appears as a little hand, symbol \ (division) appears as a little pencil. See attachment. I'm working an Xubuntu. Thanks for attention.
Looks as if you have an unidentified symbol font on system that is replacing OpenSymbol glyphs that should be there with default profile. PLUS SIGN -- U+002b (showing right pointing finger) PLUS-MINUS SIGN -- U+00b1 (showing circled digit 6) MULTIPLICATION SIGN -- U+00d7 (showing up-down arrow) DIVISION SIGN -- U+00f7 (showing a black feathered south east arrow) SOLIDUS -- U+002f (showing a pencil) NOT SIGN -- U+00ac (showing circled digit 1) Weird mix, I don't recognize the font. Please clear your user profile, and be sure the OpenSymbol font is installed on your system and retest.
I recognized the font: Dingbats. I disabled it and now it's all OK. Thanks for attention
I’m going to mark this issue as NEW on the basis of the fact that users should be able to install any dingbat font without Math’s Elements pane visually breaking. For UI display purposes, OpenSymbol should always take precedence.
