I inserted a footnote in a textline in a table cell. I set the text to blue and the asterisk which leads to the footnote in red. But then I wanted to make the text white and the background color blue. Whenever I selected the text (including the asterisk) and did that, what happened was that the character area belonging to the asterisk didn't change color. It results in white text (alright), red asterisk (alright), blue background (alright), and a small vertical rectangle behind the asterisk, with the page colour in the middle of the blue background (and that's not right)!
Forgot to say: it appears this way EVEN IN PRINT PREVIEW!
Hello, Thank you for reporting the bug. Please attach a sample document, as this makes it easier for us to verify the bug. I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' once the requested document is provided. (Please note that the attachment will be public, remove any sensitive information before attaching it. See https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FAQ#How_can_I_eliminate_confidential_data_from_a_sample_document.3F for help on how to do so.)
Created attachment 128679 [details] example of the bug i write about There. Text is bold, and I inserted a space in the beginning and at the end of the textline so you could see the rectangle better. It stays that way in print preview, and it shouldn't.
Do I understand it right that the bug you mentioned is that the whole text area before and after the asterisk has a blue background colour but not the asterisk itself? If yes, then I confirm it with a new text file and also with your sample document with LO 5.2.3.3 (Win 8.1).
Hello, That's the expected behaviour, as the difference in the background's color is used to let the user know there's a link Closing this as RESOLVED NOTABUG
Yes, but when you change the background color of the CELL itself, the blank space does NOT appear, so it also DIDN'T have to appear as well when the TEXT background color is changed...there should be no difference: if it does not appear in one place, it didn't have to appear in the another, too. In my opinion, such thing should be removed...
moving it back to UNCONFIRMED
I see the problem with Print preview in 5.2.4, but it is fixed in master. Let's close and not bother to add a backport request as this is such a small problem.
