Description garrettbouma 2016-11-22 23:25:00 UTC
Description:
In Calc when trying to Find or Find/Replace quotation marks, I get a message that says "Search Key Not Found." This happens when looking for either single or double quotes. This function DOES work in Writer, but not Calc. I've tried turning smart quotes on and off in OS X System Preferences, replacing the single/double quotes with a different style in L.O. > AutoCorrect Options > Localized Options, deleting user/registrymodifications.xcu, and renaming the user profile, but the exact same problem still persists whether I'm attempting to Find single/double quotes in Values, Formulas or Notes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open the find and replace options.
2.In the "find" box, enter a single set of double quotes.
3.Make sure the search is set to "Values".
4.Click either Find All or Find Next.
5. The double quotes in the Calc document are not highlighted, and the error message "Search Key Not Found" appears within the Find/Replace options.
6. Exact same situation happens when searching for single quotes, however Find/Replace seems to be working just fine on all other words, letters, numbers, etc.

Actual Results:
See above.

Expected Results:
See above in "Steps to Reproduce".

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Just to reiterate, this problem only happens for me in Calc. In Writer, all Find and Find/Replace functions seem to be working just fine.

Thanks for taking a look!

Can not reproduce on

Version: 5.2.3.3
Build ID: d54a8868f08a7b39642414cf2c8ef2f228f780cf
Threads CPU : 2; Version de l'OS :Mac OS X 10.12.1; UI Render : par défaut;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: group

but perhaps I am missing something.

With a FR locale, the double quote " character gets replaced by « (opening) or » (closing).

I can copy /paste that character into the search box of find/replace and it will find the character and highlight the cells containing it.

Your problem might be dependent on the particular OS locale, and LO locale, and possibly even the keyboard that you are using and for that we would need more information from you.
