Description: LibreOffice Calc saves line endings in a wrong way when saving to *.xls or *.xlsx format. When you open saved document - you see difference between what you saved and what you see. Your formatting replaced with arrows. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Creating a new Calc document. 2. Adding a "line" figure. 3. Formatting a line endings (arrows) to "|---" or other (square, diamond etc.) 4. Saving to one of Excel formats. 5. Closing file. 6. Reopening file with any program from list (LibreOffice Calc, OpenOffice Calc, Excel). Actual Results: Line endings replaced with usual arrows (or even transformed to different ones). Expected Results: Line endings should match saved ones. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.75 Safari/537.36
Please attach a simple sample document and then set to UNCONFIRMED. It is *always* better for a reporting party to add a simple test document to both save QA time and to ensure that we understand the problem.
This is limitiation of the OOXML format, which support only 6 arrow ends: none None triangle Triangle Arrow Head stealth Stealth Arrow diamond Diamond oval Oval arrow Arrow Head More information: http://www.datypic.com/sc/ooxml/t-a_ST_LineEndType.html https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/documentformat.openxml.drawing.headend(v=office.14).aspx We cannot do much to fix that.
I'm trying to use this bug report by creating a page to document the differences between saving in ods and xlsx, see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/User:Kerwyn/informationoncompatibility. However, I can't reporduce or maybe I'm doing something wrong? Do you mean you draw an arrow using the line option? Or do you mean the shapes like the 12 point star don't get preserved?
