Description Karen 2016-12-22 17:12:32 UTC
For the last month all text is blurry except for where I put the cursor. Then it might clear for a line or two. It's hard to see to be able to find where to work. I have been using Libre Office since July, and Open Office before and did not have this problem. In web search I saw that it was a problem due to format you use; however I did not have the problem until recently. I use a Mac Book Pro.
Thank you.

I use a Macbook Pro, not a PC. You sent 8 pages of instructions. The Libre version I have is 5.2.3.3 so it looks like I will need to go "behind" the usual Mac screens into folders somewhere to "reset Libreoffice profiles" as you suggest, and I do not think that is reasonable given I am not a techie. I was not even able to get the Mac to go into safe mode -- I followed instructions of holding down shift but nothing said I was in safe mode and I still could not get to Tools-Options- etc.

I don't want to cause other problems with my computer. Very disappointed.

@Karen :

Your LibreOffice user profile is stored in :

/Users/myuser/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice

where "mysuer" is the name of the user account.

The Library folder is hidden by default on current versions of MacOS, but you can navigate directly to the Application Support folder by using the Finder :

Shift-Cmd-G

and entering the path:
/Utilisateurs/myuser/Library/Application Support

from here you can rename your LibreOffice folder to, for example, LO-OLD, then restart LibreOffice.

Just out of interest, it appears from your screenshot that you have the automatic cursor positioning activated - does the problem still occur if you turn this off ?

Does the blur happen irrespective of zoom factor in your document ?

Okay. I finally figured out you sent me key word in French:

You wrote >> Shift-Cmd-G and entering the path: /Utilisateurs/myuser/Library/Application Support

Once I changed it to
/Users/[myusername] it got me in & I renamed folder. I am testing over next day to make sure blurriness is permanently gone.

Thanks
K
